IKEA Festival Milano

Meet our host Amie Bramme Sey as she presents the IKEA Festival Show from Milan. Highlights include a tour of the new ?GONBLICK exhibition with IKEA’s Marcus Engman and Ingvar Kamprad’s Milan tips...from 1960! Managing Director of IKEA of Sweden Frederika Inger talks trends and we pay a home visit to meet UK-based artist Charli Devon.

The programme's packed with inspiration, from the new book "Us & Our Planet" to the talented Latin American creators behind an exciting upcoming collaboration. As IKEA commemorates its one millionth home visit, enjoy a recap of the very first from 1960. Designer Ilse Crawford talks about luxurious home fragrances at a low price and we round off with a stellar evening performance from Ghali.

First, a tour of Milan and then designer Mikael Axelsson teases the new collaboration with Marimekko. VARMBLIXT designer Sabine Marcelis talks light and Johan Ejdemo and Akanksha Deo Sharma discuss democratic design. Axel Boman opens up about home and the IKEA Museum reminisces about IKEA pianos from the 70s. We finish with a fantastic show from Jamie XX.

Highlights include glimpses of the long-awaited collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, the H22 event in Helsingborg and London's Atelier 100. Composer and sound artist Franz Edvard Cedrins puts sound to vision, Teodor Wolgers tickles the ivories of a 70s IKEA piano and we pay a home visit to the Netherlands. Finally, make some noise for Swedish rock band Viagra Boys.

The designers behind the cosy compact apartments on show at the festival site take us on a tour and share their small space tips. An initiative about design, immigration and refugees is introduced and we delve into the birth of democratic design. Soo welcomes us into her home in Seoul and we sign off our last show from Milano with a performance by Seinabo Sey. Ciao!
